With Spring came mud. Lots and lots and lots of mud. Construction within the keep was postponed again, except for the tunnels deep underground, and focus had shifted to the village. Dal was leading the project there and word had been spread across Tortall that there was a house on offer for anyone willing to commit to rebuilding the village that

Alanna had finally gotten the dirt out of her hair and finger nails - she may have been the Woman Who Rides Like A Man but she was never going to stop being finicky.

"Boo." Alanna said, walking over.

"All cleaned up?"

"I will deny all rumors about how long I may have spent in water." Alanna said, leaning against a wall. "How is the building going?"

Charlie kept his laugh to himself, sure that if he checked, there'd be little wrinkles from the water on her fingers. Instead, he looked up at the stable. "The stable should be done in another day or two if the weather keeps up. I wish the Swoop was in better condition before you came to see it, but it'll come along." He patted the piece of wood he was working on. Conversations were a little different now he had Pirate's Swoop and what that might have meant for the future and free will. "You staying long?"
