Summary: This girl travels to Japan to find her best friend. But in the process of finding her best friend, Johnny happens to hire her. & she’s no ordinary person, like she doesn't do the makeup or whatever. She's the VERY first girl to join Johnny's (and no, she is NOT cross-dressing). And in amidst all her rise to fame, she falls head over heels for someone in JUMP.

And the winner is… YUKI!

It was time had slowed to a crawl; everything taking an eternity to process.

There were very few things Ami could pick up from her little slo-mo world; Maemi shrieked no and stomped off the stage, Hikaru hot at her heels with a tissue from who knows where.

Yuki looked as if she was going to pass out; face pale and mouth gaped open.

Ami stood there frozen, wide eyes in place, processing everything slowly.

As the information was absorbed, a smile broke out on her face. Turning to face Yuki, she grabbed the other girl by the shoulders and began jumping up and down screaming, “You won! You won!” over and over again.

The audience was cheering for them, no, for Yuki. And she didn’t mind, the lime light didn’t belong to her, even though Maemi thought that to herself.

After settling down, Ami nodded her head once to Yuki and once to Jump, walking off the stage to watch the performance from the side wings.

She couldn’t stop shaking, not from the shock, but from the excitement. For some reason, she knew she wouldn’t win. It was an odd feeling that she knew this, but she didn’t care, because someone else deserved this chance of a life time. She already had a great boyfriend, Arioka Daiki, and she knew each Jump member personally, whether she liked it or not.

Her life was perfect, even when she watched Yuki shine as a star when singing Ultra Music Power with them; even Daiki winking at the crowd didn’t bother her. Nothing could’ve ruined this.

The filming of Shounen Club was tiring, and the announcement of the winner took a lot out of everyone, including Kaori.

There were only three other people sleeping over at Keito’s house that night: Kaori, Ami, and Daiki.

The plans were simple: movies, games, food, sleep. Simple right? You would think so…

“Maa~ I’m so tired! So much excitement in one day ne?” Daiki said, his mouth full of udon.

“Definitely! It’s too bad that Ami didn’t win though…” Kaori agreed.

“Kaori! It really doesn’t matter if I won or not, but it was fun while it lasted!” Ami smiled.

“Okay, okay. Fine then.”

As the conversation died down, the only noises that could be heard were the clinking of glasses and chopsticks.

“Kaori..” Ami asked.

“Hmm?”

“Are you and Keito dating?”

Having said nothing for the past couple of minutes, the English boy had spat out his food, mouth slightly open with an incredulous expression on his face. Kaori turned a bright shade of pink.

“What would make you say that?” Kaori’s voice was a few octaves higher than usual.

“Well…” Ami fiddled with her chopsticks for a little bit “,it looks like you guys are seeing each other.” She turned her head from Kaori, trying to look innocent.

“No, we are not seeing each other.” Kaori stated.

No one said anything until dinner was over.

“Well, I think we can all just watch movies here and snack on junk until we all fall asleep. Is that okay with you guys?” Keito asked, turning his attention away from the DVD player to face the other three.

No objections were heard so he continued messing around with the player.

As the lights were dimmed and the movie began to play, there was utter silence; no munching on snacks, no bickering from anyone. Even the ‘couple’ wasn’t saying anything to each other. They just watched as Kaori and Keito were avoiding each other, whatever the reason was.

When the movie ended two hours later, there were only two people awake. One was sitting by the window, staring at the sky, the other was outside on the back porch, looking up at the moon.

Ami had fallen asleep in Daiki’s arms around the middle of the movie and he too followed suit and was asleep peacefully on the floor. Soft snores floated to where Kaori was seated; thoughts of sweet dreams invaded her thoughts.

Maybe…Keito and I… just aren’t meant to be. And yet, my heart aches whenever he’s near; whenever his name is spoken. Why won’t these feelings go away? Maybe…possibly, this was how Ami felt when Daiki was around…I wonder…

As Kaori was lost in her own thoughts, so was Keito as he too, was looking up at the deep, midnight sky.

Sighing, Keito began to sort his thoughts.

Why? I thought… she really liked me…Was she lying? But we… have so much in common…Did something go wrong? Did I do something to her? Why is she acting this way? I thought… I thought we had something special, something… unforgettable…

Looking up at the stars, both Kaori and Keito kept staring, wishing to be somewhere else, and wanting to stay there.

Slowly, the night disappeared and the sky was greeted by the colors of orange, yellow, and pink; it was dawn that approached and a new day was born.

Going back to school was a great relief; missing too much school kind of gave Ami some anxiety. To be back in the classroom felt right; it felt like home kind of. Nothing was out of the ordinary as classes and lessons proceeded on as usual; notes were taken, small gossip was passed around.

It wasn’t until lunch when Ami was meeting up with Daiki that pandemonium struck; fan girls came swarming out of the buildings trying to get close to the Jump members, some even running up to Ami asking her questions that were much to hard to decipher.

“Ami! Ami! How was the competition! I was-”

“I can’t believe you didn’t win! It was such a-”

“Can I get a picture with you? I really wanna-”

It was like a mob broke loose; screaming was heard and at one point, they had to make a dash to the closet classroom and lock the door. Even then girls and guys alike were crushed up against the door, trying to get a peek and trying to get answers to their unstoppable questions.

Safely inside homeroom, Ami turned to the boys. Only Ryosuke, Keito, Daiki, Chinen, and Yuto attended High school, Ryutaro was still in middle school and the other Best members graduated already.

“Ummm… what was all that about?” Pointing her finger to the door.

Responding in his usual upbeat voice, Ryosuke answered her question. “It would seem… Ah, how do I put this? You’re famous too?”

He lightly tapped his chin as Ami pondered this idea.

“But, how?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” Chinen hopped up from the desk he was sitting on.

“What’s obvious?” Ami turned her head to the boy that was surprisingly older than her.

“Ever since that competition and the airing of the winner on Shounen Club, you’re like one of us now. You’re famous!”

Chinen sounded out the last word slowly, as if saying it slower would help her comprehend its meaning better.

“Ah… I see, kind of.” Ami responded quietly, tilting her head up towards the ceiling.

This routine would continue until the week before Christmas break, and every time, it would come as a shock to Ami’s senses, no matter how often it happened.

A few weeks have passed, and on a daily basis, Ami would check the internet, always finding paparazzi pictures of herself with the other Jump members; the wonder of it always gave a little shock to her system.

Chinen’s birthday had passed and the little guy had turned 14, finally excited that he was a year older and ‘more mature.’ But what ever his age, Ami still got him that Arashi CD he had adored.

Christmas break was only a few days away, the excitement and chatter wafted the halls as the day got closer.

There were less people following her, but people still came up to her, asking for her autograph and what not. Someone even asked her if she would marry them; her reaction was just a puzzled expression and a simple saying: “I’m taken.” And she walked off.

Watching the hands on the clock move felt like forever; the anticipation was killing her.

Tick… 15 more minutes

Tick… 10 more minutes

Tick… 2 more minutes

Tick… 1 more minute

DING! DING! DING!

Papers were thrown as the eager students rushed out of the classroom, already chattering and bickering about their plans for the two week vacation.

Even the walk to the Jimosho consisted of Chinen going on and on about how he’ll meet Ohno-kun and get his autograph once and for all. There was also a discussion about what Ryosuke would cook for Christmas day and what Daiki wanted for Christmas, which was obviously the limited edition candy cane and peppermint flavored pocky. Ami mentally smacked herself for her boyfriend’s obsession with a snack.

Nothing of the discussion was out of the ordinary, except when Keito had to mention a little detail. Something along the lines of her birthday.

“Hey, Ami.” Keito asked, jogging up to her from behind.

“Hmm?”

“What are you going to do for your birthday this year?”

“BIRTHDAY?!?!?” The four boys behind them exclaimed.

Grabbing Ami’s arm, Daiki spun her around. “Your birthday is coming up? How come I didn’t know this?”

“Well… I thought you would since just about everyone else in the Jimosho does…” Ami's voice trailed off as she watched Daiki’s upper lip twitch slightly.

“And you didn’t feel it necessary to mention this little detail to me?” Daiki’s eyebrows had shot up into his hair, his expression a cross of amusement and slight irritation.

“Ah, well now you know don’t you?”

Turning on her heel, she left the other boys bickering about what they were to get her. Only Keito dared to follow her since he knew all along.

“Keito, you didn’t feel the need to mention it to them?”

“Well, I thought that they’d find out sooner or later. But in this case it was later.”

Ami chuckled, amused at Keito’s logic.

“Now I wonder what they’re going to get me.”

“All I can say is that it can range from anything to everything.”

“Oh?”

Smiling up at Keito, they arrived at the Jimosho.

Who knows what is to come later on. Presents? Parties? A surprise? Or a shock of a life time…
