Summary: This girl travels to Japan to find her best friend. But in the process of finding her best friend, Johnny happens to hire her. & she’s no ordinary person, like she doesn't do the makeup or whatever. She's the VERY first girl to join Johnny's (and no, she is NOT cross-dressing). And in amidst all her rise to fame, she falls head over heels for someone in JUMP.
It was Saturday morning and well, all of JUMP received a phone call about some last minute rehearsal beginning at 11 A.M. Keito, of all the members was wide awake, thinking about Ami.
“Should I ask Ami to come?” Keito mumbled, pacing around his room.
“… Wait a sec… I DIDN’T ASK HER FOR HER NUMBER!!!”
Keito started freaking out slightly.
“Fudge… I’m such an idiot…”
Then an idea popped into his head.
“Hey, maybe Kaori has Ami’s number… and why am I still talking to myself?”
Keito brushed off his moment of insanity and began to dial Kaori’s cell phone.
After a few rings, a tired voice answered the phone.
“Mmmm… moshi moshi?”
“Ohayo Kaori! Can I ask you something?”
“Ohayo Keito…” Kaori gave a big yawn.
“Kaori? Were you asleep?”
“Well, any normal person would be asleep at 8 in the morning on a Saturday.”
“Oh, sorry about that but anyways, do you have Ami’s number?”
“Hai, hai. But why do you need it?”
“I wanted to ask her something.”
“Hmmm… maybe a date?”
Keito could almost imagine Kaori raising her eye brows in curiosity.
“No, I wanted to invite her to my dance practice.”
“Okay, suit yourself.”
“Just give me her number! Please?”
“Fine.”
After some moments of slight arguments, they said their goodbyes and Keito began dialing once more.
Ring…ring…ring
“Please pick up. Pick up. Pick up.” Keito was saying to himself, while simultaneously hopping around the room.
“Moshi moshi?”
He breathed a sigh of relief.
“Ami, is that you.”
“Hai and may I ask you this is?”
“Anou… Okamoto Keito-desu.”
“Oh, ohayo Keito. You’re usually not awake this time on a Saturday.”
“Oh, I have a dance practice today and… I was wondering if you wanted to come again?”
Silence on the other line.
“Ami? You there?”
“Sorry, I was just thinking.”
“Oh… of what?”
“Sure, I’ll go to your dance practice.”
“Okay, what’s your address?”
“Here, I sent it to you.”
Keito’s phoned beeped, sounding a text message.
“Well, I guess I’ll see you in half an hour?”
“I’ll be waiting.”
Click.
“Well, I better get my stuff then…”
Once more, Keito shuffled around his room, picking things he needed for dance practice.
- Walking to Ami’s apartment -
“Water bottle, check. Extra shirt, check. Towel, check. Ipod, check. Cell phone, check… did I forget anything else?” Keito mumbled to himself, while trying to walk down the street and check the contents of his bag at the same time.
Taking out his cell phone, Keito matched the address that Ami sent him and the building in front of him. He turned his head from left to right, examining the street.
Huh. Ami’s apartment is only a few blocks from the Jimosho.
Cell phone in hand, Keito called Ami.
Before he could get out a word, Ami responded.
“Hey Keito, I’ll be down in a minute.”
Another click and the line were dead.
Keito sighed, “She always knows me. And always will.” He shook his head slowly, a light smile touching his features.
Squeak…
The front door of the apartment building opened, and Ami hopped out.
“OHAYO KEITO!!” Ami hollered, louder than she needed.
“Ohayo Ami…”
Keito was examining her outfit.
A pair of black mid-calf boots, a
tank top, and a pair of
black shorts; Typical Ami. She also had a medium sized,
gray bag. “Umm… How are you going to dance in those?” Keito gestured to her two inch boots.
Ami lightly smacked him in the arm, “You silly! I have my shoes in my bag! It’s not like I’m going to kill myself dancing in heels, like I almost did trying to play badminton with boots once.”
“Oh… wait what?”
“Oh, never mind! So, shall we go?”
“Sure, the Jimosho is that way.” Keito pointed down the street.
“I know. I know. I delivered food there once to… Hikaru? I think that’s his name.”
“Oh? I didn’t know that.”
“Well, you were probably in another room then.”
“Huh. I wonder why no one told me about this.”
“Who knows? Maybe you can ask them when we get there hmmm?” Ami nudged Keito with her elbow, a devilish smile on her face.
“Uhhh. I don-whoa!!”
Before he could finish his sentence, Ami grabbed him by the arm and began to tow him down the street. Keito was being half dragged by a girl ‘half his size.’ She was defiantly stronger than she looked.
Maa~ I totally forgot how strong Ami could be. Was it because of all her dance classes and gymnastic combined? Probably… Keito wondered to himself.
-Jimosho-
Within ten minutes, the pair arrived in front of the building.
Ami was laughing about how they almost got hit by a car, and Keito was just happy to make it out of there alive and in one piece.
“Maa~ Ami, don’t you ever get sick of living on the edge?”
“Why not? It just makes people love me even more!” Ami giggled, something she never did often now days.
“Yeah, yeah.”
“You know you love me! Just admit it!” Ami was twirling around on the side walk, smiling like a little girl.
“Uhhh…” Keito didn’t know what to say.
Do I love her? Don’t I? I do… but no in that kind of way. Or do I? I don’t know! Maybe? Gahhh… I hate puberty.
Keito cringed as the thoughts swirled around his mind.
“Yes, I do love you, as a best friend.”
“Yay! I love Keito too!” Ami twirled over to where he was standing and gave him a quick peck on the cheek.
He could feel his face heating up, a blush forming across his calm features.
“We should go in ne Keito?”
“Yeah, yeah we should.”
Keito opened the door and they both walked in, the heat of the building blasting out.
-Hey! Say! JUMP Practice Room-
“Hmmm… it seems that no one’s here yet.” Ami said, turning to the tumbling mats.
“Well, practice doesn’t start until 11, and its 9:30 right now.”
“Oh? That early? Well… okay then, more time for us then!”
Taking a seat on a nearby couch, Ami took off her boots and pulled out a pair of
silver sequined 'converses'; the ones that sparkled in the light.
“I see you have silver converses.”
“Well, they look like converse but they’re not. See.” Ami pointed to a little black butterfly on the side.
“Oh, then where did you get them?”
“My dad, who works in Osaka, sent them down as a gift for getting into a good high school.”
“Oh, and what’s the company’s name?”
“I got them from Lapapillon.”
“I’ve never heard of them before.”
“Well, you should have. You go by Shibuya 109 often, don’t you?”
“Yeah, but I’ve never seen those shoes before.” Keito pointed to her sequined shoes.
“That’s because they haven’t come out yet.”
“Wait… then how could you have the now if they haven’t been released yet?” Keito had a quizzical look on his face.
“You know how I mentioned that my dad works in Osaka?”
“Yeah…”
“My dad’s one of the top managers of the big Lapapillon in Tokyo, and well… he can get me things even if they haven’t been released.”
“But if he’s a high class manager, why is he in Osaka?”
“Business trip I guess, something about problems with negotiations. I’m not sure, but his boss sent him there to help deal with the issues.”
“Issues about what?”
“Do you remember my cousin, Hideki?”
“Yeah, you mean the one who was living in Japan back then?”
“It involves him.”
Ami’s childish smile disappeared and was replaced with an empty face; no expression could be seen on her delicate features.
“What do you mean?”
Ami took a deep breath to steady her self.
“I… found out… that he was involved in…something big. Something…”
Ami took a deep breath and finished her sentence.
“… evil.”
“You mean… he was involved in the murder of that manager…Kenji?”
“Yes and he’s a part of something evil. Pluto.”
“So, wait a sec. Hold the phone. You mean, you’re somehow involved in all of this?”
“Somehow, I am.”
“How Ami? How?”
“That’s the question I’ve been asking myself for the past couple of days.”
“What does this mean then?” Keito was almost hysterical.
“I don’t know Keito. I just don’t know anymore.” Ami’s head was in her hands, shaking from side to side.
“Do you know where he is?”
“No, I haven’t spoken to him since… since the day you moved away Keito.”
Life for Ami isn’t as simple now as it once was.
A/N: If you have no idea what Lapapillon, I suggest you read
