Summary: This girl travels to Japan to find her best friend. But in the process of finding her best friend, Johnny happens to hire her. & She's no ordinary person, like she doesn't do the makeup or whatever. She's the VERY first girl to join Johnny's (and no, she is NOT cross-dressing). And in amidst all her rise to fame, she falls head over heels for SOMEONE in JUMP. Sorry. No hints xD
Walking into the brightly lit room, Ami stopped suddenly. This was no ordinary office building, the room she just walked into looks just like a game room, a kid paradise.
To her left was a sitting area, including couches, a coffee table, and various magazines. To her right was a game area. Fully equipped with a TV, and game consoles of every kind. Straight ahead was an area covered completely with tumbling mats, and beyond that was a little sound stage. Off to the right side of the room were private rehearsal rooms.
Whoa. From the outside, it looked just like an office building. But inside… it’s just…whoa.
After standing there with a dazed look on her face, someone lightly tapped Ami's shoulder.
“Excuse me miss…” Snapping out of her little trance, Ami whirled around to face the person.
“Aimi?!?!?!?”
“Daiki?!?!?!?”
Out of pure instinct, Ami asked, “Wha - what are you doing here?”
Recovering from the shock, Daiki simply answered with “Anou… I work here.”
After mentioning that ‘little’ detail, Daiki managed to muster up a sheepish, but adorkable, smile.
“Ahhh… that makes sense.”
Ami’s answer threw Daiki off but he managed to stutter out “I - I - it does?”
“Well, yeah. You did say a week earlier that your work was close to my apartment, and here we are, 9 blocks away from the said location.”
Completely dumbfounded, Daiki just stood there, nodding his head like a bobble head.
After a few moments of staring at a completely lost Daiki, Ami broke the silence.
“Anou… Daiki?”
“H - hai?”
“Who is that behind you?”
It seemed that it took an eternity for Daiki to comprehend her words. Realization set in and he, ever so slowly, turned to face the said person behind him.
“Ah… Dai-chan! Is this the girl you met at the street corner? She’s cute ne?”
Being sent into utter shock, once again, Daiki couldn’t speak. He just stood there, nodding his head like a complete idiot, with a beet red face to match.
“I’m cute?” replied a very curious Ami.
“Oh, I’m Yaotome Hikaru. And yes, you are.”
“Uhh… I don’t know what to say, but anyways, here’s your order.”
Ami handed over the box containing the ten bentos.
Flashing on of his famous goofy smiles, Hikaru takes the food from her.
“Just curious, but why did you order 10 bentos.”
“It’s for me and my 9 other band mates.”
“9 other band mates?”
“Hai. We’re in a group called Hey! Say! JUMP.”
“I see…” Ami was nodding, attempting to comprehend the words that were coming out of Hikaru’s mouth.
“And Dai-chan here is in it too!” Hikaru gave Daiki a punch that defiantly knocked him out of that trance.
“Itai! Hikaru! That hurt!”
“Gomen… chubby-cheeks.”
As if on cue, Daiki’s eye brows twitched slightly at hearing the unwanted nickname.
“What did you call me, Hikari-chan?”
This time, it was Hikaru’s turn to be mad.
But unlike Daiki, Hikaru managed to keep his composure in front of the slightly confused Ami.
“Nothing. But may I remind you that we have a guest.” Hikaru gestured towards Ami.
Biting back his tongue, Daiki decided the smartest thing to do was to change the subject.
“Anou… Hikaru.”
“Yeah?”
“Where’s the rest of JUMP?”
“In the big practice room. Working on the new dance for our new single.”
“Aww. Okay.”
“Why do you ask?”
“Just wondering.”
“Okay, suit yourself.”
Picking up the box, Hikaru walked over to a long table and set it down. One by one, he started pulling out the bentos and setting them down onto the table.
-On the other side of the room-
“Uh… Daiki.”
“Hmm?”
“I have to get back to work.”
“… No wait!” Hearing his voice, Ami froze in mid-step.
“Did you need something Daiki?”
“Uh… ummm… will you stay to meet the rest of JUMP?”
“I don’t know, I don’t think my boss will let me.”
“I’ll have Johnny’s secretary phone her! How ‘bout that?”
Daiki seemed to be in high spirits. As if he was sugar high. Who am I kidding, the kid is sugar high!
In a hesitant voice, Ami replied, “I suppose… that’s okay then.”
“Yatta!!! You have to meet everyone!!”
What have I gotten myself into? These guys are famous! Wanted by every girl in Japan. Maybe I should leave…
But it was already too late to turn back.
Taking a deep breath, Ami was able to calm her nerves down once more. A few minutes later, Daiki was able to calm himself down just enough so that Ami could have a some what proper conversation with him.
“Daiki?”
“Yes, Ami?”
“Do you prefer Daiki or Dai-chan?”
“Most people call me Daiki or Arioka, but I usually prefer Dai-chan.”
“Uh huh.”
-Moment of silence-
“If you want… you can call me Dai-chan too.”
After saying those words, a shy smile appeared on Daiki’s lips.
“I’d really like that.”
Looking up, Ami saw Daiki’s smile, and she too returned the smile, with a slight blush to her face.
