The question now is, was Daiki just as lucky, or was he stuck all alone with a milkshake?
After finishing the milkshake he ordered a while ago, Daiki got up and decided to explore the park some more.
The sites ranged from amazing to just plain crazy. Some roller coasters twisted and turned so much Daiki lost count. It was hard to imagine someone crazy enough to go on one of those. But that was the least of his worries; he had to find Yuto, because he really didn’t like this ‘being alone’ business too much.
- Across the Park -
Daiki wandered aimlessly around the park, in an attempt to search for Yuto. Stopping to rest on a bench for a moment, he spotted a tall figure sitting down at some booth. He recognized it at once, Nakajima Yuto. But the thing was… he was with a girl?
Huh, Yuto-kun’s with a girl. Odd, I thought he said he didn’t have any interests in them at the moment… and wait, are they kissing? Whoa, what have I been missing out on?
Seeing that Yuto was currently occupied with his new girl friend, Daiki decided to go on some rides.
No point in waiting for Yuto now.
Every ride he went on, it was as if something was missing. A companion perhaps? It was pretty lonely to go on a ride alone.
- Some where in the Park -
Alone once more, Daiki was well, lonely. He’d ridden every ride in the park. Even the one that seemed it defied gravity! But what can he do? It’s not like he’s going to march over to Yuto and yank him away from his girlfriend. He was Daiki, not some desperate, lonely freak.
Sighing, he leaned his head back onto the bench and closed his eyes.

Some time later, Daiki found that he had fallen asleep and something, or someone, was shaking him awake.
“Huh? Hmmm? I’m awake! I am awake!” Daiki shouted as he jumped up from his nap.
“Oh, okay. I was just making sure, you’ve been here for an awful long time.”
“Oh, how long is long exactly?”
“I would say, about 2 hours at most?”
“Two hours?! I fell asleep for two hours?”
“Looks like it doesn’t it?”
“By the way, what is your name?”
“Takahashi Midori-desu. And yours?”
“Arioka Daiki-desu. Nice to meet you.”
“Same to you.”
Since being awakened, Daiki didn’t exactly take the time to look at his surroundings. The park had all it’s lights on now, which meant it was probably past 5 already. And the girl, Midori, he hadn’t looked at her at all he realized. So being as curious as he could possibly be, he turned to face her.
She wasn’t that much different from the girls at his school. Her hair was down, curled in loose ringlets, and the color of dark auburn. She kind of reminded him of someone in his class. But he couldn’t recall the name.
“Maa~ this is kind sudden and all but you kind of remind me of a girl from my school.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah…”
“Just to let you know, I am in your class.”
With a flip of her hair, Midori stood up, bowed and departed.
Taking a few seconds to absorb this new information, Daiki stood there, dumbfounded.
“Wait!”
Midori turned back to face him.
“Would you… like to watch the fire works with me? The park always has a nice show every night and all…”
Daiki was stuttering, and he could feel the heat rise in his cheeks.
“Sure, I guess I could stay for a bit longer…” Midori replied hesitantly.
“Really?” Daiki’s face lit up in excitement.
“I said yes didn’t I?” A smirk formed on Midori’s lovely face.
“Is it just me, or did I just bite more than I could chew?”
“Let’s just say it depends on who you are and how you look at it.”

- Fire works -
“Wow, isn’t it beautiful Daiki?”
Daiki and Midori were watching the fireworks on the Ferris wheel. Reds, blues, greens, and many other colors light up the night. They were so bright; you couldn’t even see the stars twinkling in the back ground.
“Yes, it is beautiful.”
Daiki’s arm was wrapped around Midori’s waist, pressing their sides together, and she leaned her head against his chest. It was pure bliss; a picture perfecting ending to a not so perfect day.
When you think about it, falling in love is easier than you think.
