Anyone know a good order for reading the Ender series?

Started my goal to read 30 minutes today by starting Ender's Game. Got through four chapters of it, too. I impress me as I consider myself a slow reader.

But Im looking forward to reading the rest of the series, and I dont know what order to read in. Seems that theres another six books after the initial one: Speaker For the Dead, Xenocide, and ( Read more... )

Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ender's_Game_series#Chronological_order

Chronological order of books, lots of info on books, and a neat diagram of what order everything happens in. :)

Ah, this was very helpful. I really need to look on wikipedia more when I have questions on things.

Thank you!

Okay, Ender's Game and its three direct sequels- Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, and Children of the Mind- are all about Ender. They're one connected quartet. Read them first.

Ender's Shadow and its sequels, on the other hand, are about Bean (a character you meet later in Ender's Game). ES is a parallel story to EG, and tells about Bean's time at Battle School. Then its sequels are about the drama that unfolds on Earth after EG. Chronologically they happen before the EG sequels, but still, read Ender's stories before you read Bean's.

When I looked at the wikipedia page, it looks like Ender's Shadow actually happens *before* Ender's Game ... and I think that was from Card himself. But I think Ill take your and PV's advice to read the whole Ender's series, and then the secondary triology ... which I found out last night has a fourth book as well that I didnt know about.

Ender's Shadow doesn't, exactly. It starts a couple of years before, if you want to get really technical, but definitely read Ender's Game and its sequels first. If only so that the twist of that book won't be spoiled for youl

Well, some of this we covered last night :) But on a couple that we didn't...i stink at writing too, but my mom excels at it :) If you need a guinea pig that would love mundane correspondence, let me know :)
WW - done pretty okay with that the last few months, so any questions just holler :)

The biggest question I have is how do I know how many points to allow myself? I looked in the front of the cookbook, and it doesnt seem to say, and it probably varies according to how much weight you need to lose ... and given Im bypassed, would I get less points to keep my portion size down?

Seems like the cookbook insists that you have to go to a meeting to find this out, but I dont want to do that. Ive done WW meetings, and I dont find it a supportive environment. Id rather do it on my own.

Officially you do have to go to a meeting - they only put that formula in the literature handed out there (how else to actually get business?). Original figure for you should be 24. Not sure how the bypass would affect that tho...have a few other tidbits, but work is busy today - okay to call you this evening? Can hash it out a bit more.
