I just returned from the staff Christmas party for my school. We trekked out to Saguaro Lake for a boat ride. I had spent all morning searching for a jacket because I knew it would be cold. I had donated last year's coat to Goodwill because it was too big. I finally settled on a coat, but it didn't get as cold as I thought it would be. I probably would have been fine in a sweater. But now I have a new coat. The ride was nice, the area was peaceful, and the company was great. I mostly stuck to my teammates Carol and Monica. It was also nice to get to know some of the other teachers better. There is one teacher who always catches my eye because I love her sense of style (she wears clothes I would if I were her tiny size). Anyhow she had this beautiful bag with vintage kimono fabric on it. I was talking to her about it and I mentioned crafting. Apparently she is into embroidery and is working on some Sublime Stiching designs. I have a new friend!
After the boat ride we had dinner at the lake restuarant. The chef made a special salad for me. It had the works: feta cheese, almonds, mandarin oranges, artichoke hearts, shredded cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. I had raspberry dressing and it was pretty yummy!
Here is a shot of us on the boat. Carol on the left, Monica on the right.
