The new Fullmetal Alchemist anime has it's issues. The early parts of the series are being rushed it seems to get to the new material and things are also being cut sadly. However I think the new series is worth checking out for when they get to the new material not covered by the 1st series because in my opinion it is amazing. Of course you can just read the manga because the manga is the most amazing of all and that way you know you are getting the best of the best. And yes I do think the manga is superior to the original anime. Some people will disagree but that is just my opinion
But right now I would compare Brotherhood to the Harry Potter movies. Enjoyable on their own right but not as enjoyable as the books/manga on which they are based.
But yeah the Gundam 00 recasting is sort of WTF. Oh well for the most part everyone is doing a good job with their role IMO.
