Each tim eyou do Nano you seem to learn about the way you write - I like it for that reason. Last year I had to do some fanfict stuff and I was going nuts just thinking about the one thing - it will do your brain good ;) (and by fanfic I HOPE YOU MEAN RESOLUTIONS).
Even if you fizzle out, there will be other thread you can pick up - and you can always just make random stuff up!!
I learnt so much last year - about how I write best, but also some new ways of doing things, that I'd never have come across or thought of otherwise. And you're right, one thing thing fizzles out and another way can be found - even if it is totally random ;)
By fanfic I meant HoS ;). I have two more seperate posts to get written and put up on site before the group closes for Christmas, which means quite a bit of medieval research too, to get it accurate as I swap between the heads of the Sheriff and Nasir - did I tell you I now write for the Silent Saracen?
Ah Resolutions! Those halcyon days when I knew not what I did and had no deadlines :D. One day, I will pick it up and finish it. I had such a good ending planned (that actually was more of a lead in to ANOTHER fic as it opened up more new questions than it resolved the old ones!) that I shall have to finish it or it will haunt me to the end of my days.
Somehow, I didn't think you meant Resolutoins - and I'm slightly worried about the use of the past tense in " I had such a good ending planned"... Hmm..
Didn't know you did Nasir too! Lots of work - still you must enjoy it!! ;)
Nano is an excellent learning experience all round. Except for typing - my typing definitely hasn't improved atthe same pace as my though processes!
*slaps self* I have...HAVE...a good ending! i've not given up on it, but I learnt last year (by trying to NaNo and write Resolutions and do an online free writing course on top of another original fic all in the same month) that there is only so much I can do at once. Otherwise my brain just...gives up.
Yes, am enjoying HoS, but yes it can be lots of work. Still, I like the Middle Ages and have learned far more about those times than I ever would've have trying to research them privately. And I'm learning that deadlines can be a good thing in making me stick my backside in a chair and actually write instead of procrastinating. Which I find very easy to do when I don't get myself motivated ;)
Don't worry - it's not exactly quality writing! I have relatives coming to stay friday and saturday. His relatives, not mine. The difference being that mine make themsleves at home, pitch in and help DO stuff. His like to be fed and entertained so I shall be rather told off if I keep disappearing off to NaNo whilst they are here. Figured I'd go all out to get ahead whilst I could. Watch my word count grind to a standstill over the weekend ;)
Thanks :). Yep, I was rather worried about the whole NOT having a plot thing, but so far it is going okay. Am already going off in weird and wonderful directions, which is always a good thing ;)

Remember Chris Baty's words: No Plot, No Problem! You'll do fine!
