Less is more when it comes to soups. That said, if you go with chicken, adding another source of fat would be good--just a couple of teaspoons. Careful with the miso.

And the secret ingredients that make (non-Asian) soup awesome are ketchup and Worcestshire sauce (not necessarily together, though that's ok too).

In small amounts! 2 Tbsp for ketchup--maybe only 2 tsp for Worcestershire sauce.
