First day of college

So today was the first day of the government sponsored career transition/upgrader course at the local college. The first half of the day was spent doing the usual long-winded introductions and course explanations and lists of what would be required for the courses. I... well, uh... Sunshine, I can say with total honesty that I was not expecting safety scissors and paste. The morning went entirely as expected but.... safety scissors and paste.

I'm not sure if they're trying to build us back from the ground up, or if it's indicative of the state of higher education in this country.

I was transported back to kindergarten (do they even have that anymore? Last I was in school, they'd changed it to ECS) Which of course is why I keep balking over it. I mean, I'd heard that colleges and universities were having to go over some pretty basic level stuff but... but... SAFETY SCISSORS AND PASTE!!!!

It was a collage to illustrate dreams & goals that represent our definition of success. In my case, having achieved my idea of success, it's stuff I want to maintain. I'm boring, mine was house, heritage, food, relationship, and dance. Not many bellydancer pics in chickmags, so I had to draw one :-P It was about halfway through cutting the pictures when the irony hit me.
