Lear was fantastic! It hasn't got such reviews in the press but I thought it was fab! And most of the "general public" who've seen it have been impressed. It's quite gory! But lots of fun. Pete is amazing and hilarious, especially once he's "gone mad" and is wearing a floral dress and carrying a parasol, LOL! We were lucky to be quite close to the stage and so got the full effect. He was quite quietly spoken at times so maybe at the back it was a bit hard to hear him (I know that was one of the complaints) and he acts so much by his face and eyes that being close up it was amazing. The three daughters were all fab, Cordelia was apparantly in Persusaion (the latest with RPJ) and her voice was familar but I couldn't quite place her so I'll have to watch it again and see (same thing happened years ago when I saw Othello with the girl who played Mary in the 95 P&P as Desdemona, all glammed up I didn't recognise her except her voice!) The guy who played Edgar was fab with the madness especially as he had a very nice chest which ( ... )

Despite of how I'm not a fan of the movies or of the casting of Remus and Tonks, this news actually made me squee. The movies are actually right to leave out the R/T angst since it didn't amount to anything in the books -- JKR should have let them be a happy hand-holding, sweetheart-calling couple, too. Maybe we'll get some caps of this bit before the DVD so we can has gooey R/T icons. ;)

Oh yes! Wants some!

I'm not particularly thrilled with the casting either. But as much as I think David Thewlis is a fantastic actor (and actually quite sexy) he's not how I saw Remus, who to be honest in my head looked more like David Tennant, but then that's just me ;) And Nat Tena wasn't really the Tonks I pictured either, Kate Winslet in External Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is closer to how I saw Tonks than Nat Tena is. However I try to enjoy the films as they are and not get too hung up on how they differ from the books or my vision (just makes me mad otherwise!).

And I forgot to say

JKR should have let them be a happy hand-holding, sweetheart-calling couple, too

Absolutely! Completely pointless to be all angsty when she doesn't really do anything with the werewolf sub-plot in DH, another reason why I personally feel she rushed it!

Hmm I wonder what kind of "sweetheart" it is...if it is, "Sweetheart! We gotta go kill some fire snakes that are treating the Burrow!"
or something, a long the lines of, "Sweetheart your fantastic in bed, wanna leave this joint early?"

Really though that put a smile on my face! So what if it's not canon compliment! I agree with mrstater they should have had this in the book, rather than that pointless Werewolf spy crap that made them melodramatic.

And last note, Remus and Tonks really are the kind of couple to hold hands. I see them doing that more in public rather than putting arms around each other, at least in the begining or when they want to be all secretive.

Your icon is very lovely actually, where can I find the original art work? As I'm not sure I've seen that one before!

I'm horribly late in commenting but I've been dreadfully self-centered this week so only just now catching up on the f-list.

I'm so pleased to see that link because I was scared they'd cut the R/T relationship out of the films, which would have made me sad.
