Bah, I hate car alarms, I can't begin to imagine the pain they cause you. Here's my deal, are they a deterrent anymore? Seriously. No one even looks unless the alarm is going off for several minutes. Even then it just to note who to throw bricks at when they finally turn it off. Although, come to think of it, if more people started throwing bricks at cars when the alarm sounds that would be a pretty good theft deterrent. It's a bit hard to steal a car when you're dodging projectiles.
As for advisors, well let's just say I've had some bad luck. My high school advisor was by far the worst however. In my junior year, I wanted to take advanced algebra and geometry at the same time. This enabled me to take trig and pre-calc my senior year. I practically had the threaten her with violence to get her to sign off on it. Then, my senior year, she failed to send my transcripts to any of the colleges I applied to. Not one. At this point I started wondering what her job duties really were.
