new mood icons and some other ramblings

Today, I got a confirmation from Socialstyrelsen that I am indeed registered to give up my organs when I die. I get this strange urge to celebrate. Of course, it could just be that I've reached that point where I'll celebrate just because it happens to be a day that ends in "day". But I'm happy ( Read more... )

Got me to thinking starbright73 June 30 2003, 14:05:33 UTC
that all the classic icons of the last millenium are gonna die sooner or later - first von Wright and now Hepburn. Both were old but still, they had class and looking around the world today I don't see much of that around any longer.

I can't think of one contemporary actress that had the 'shutzpah' Hepburn had. I can't think of one contemporary philosopher that had the classical humanistic wievpoint von Wright had.

It just makes me incredibly sad.

I think the problem is that they're still young and haven't had time to be as good yet... I mean, certain people can be very promising and then end up doing total dreck, or the other way around.

Sad and inspiring all at the same time.. *sigh*

Well, I've created a Katharine Hepburn Tribute Video... (admittedly the only video I've ever made, and perhaps my last as it was quite an obsessive little learning curve!)

... anyhow, as it is my first foray into the realm of melding music and 'moving pictures', I'd love any feedback if you're willing to give it a viewing.

Katharine Tribute

Thanks and enjoy,

Very nice little mood piece with fine music. Still, I would have been even more thrilled if you had included some moving footage from her films.

Ahhhhh... now you've opened Pandora's box!!! You're Soooo right, why didn't I think of that!?

(If you only knew how obsessive that one little video became, I stayed up to 4:30 in the morning working on it, and I actually skipped work the next day just because I had to finish it, and then I swore I wouldn't do another, but now I really want to scour through all of her movies and put together something much more monumental and much more on par with the caliber of work she did, you know, show her some respect..) ;-)

Well, thanks for viewing and thanks for unleashing the creative demons! :-)

Ciao.
