 Ugh, I was reading yuletide_coal which is a cesspool to begin with (I was looking for juicy scandals, which isn't a nice endeavour, so shame on me), and someone asked what a good kudos to hits ratio is, to which someone else replied 10%. Which made me feel good at first, because my current yuletide fics are above that so far.

Do *NOT* trust the kudos to hits ratio. In fact, do not trust anything about AO3 except it is an easy place to read and to download fic.I have seen the most *amazing* dreck garner thousands of hits and kudos and have wondered how such a thing is possible, while gems go unnoticed.

Mm, that's the id vortex factor. That's usually even worse on Ff.net.
I guess I'll just be happy that someone likes my stuff.
