Being a Hook fangirl is getting really frustrating.
Which is my own damned fault, of course. I didn't have to go head over heels for the pretty bad boy. I usually manage to keep at least some sort of distance for the type. But not in this case

I happened upon some of that the other day, and RAGE. Not saying she was a particularly good parent, but let's not even try to paint Rumpel as the good guy in that marriage. It's perfectly okay to like a ~morally challenged~ character, but come on, own the fact that they've done bad things and don't make excuses for it. Regina is my favourite, but it would be kind of silly to pretend she's not the actual evil queen, you know?

I think when it comes to the actual marriage, they were both at fault, and that people don't realize that he was too because he was so meek about it - meek and nice get confused a lot more than they should. But as for everything that happened after she left, it's absolutely absurd to act as if she's worse than he is, not to mention that bullshit about deserving what was coming to her. And the people who go, "I like Hook, but I don't understand what he saw in that bitch," I mean, that would be LAUGHABLE if it wasn't so rage-inducing.

Silly, and happening. Ohhh yes.

I don't think it's a point in his favour, but I don't see how it can be singled out as the primary reason not to like him, when there's such things around as trying to murder innocents, or trying to convince the girls that he's a harmless blacksmith, or heck, even bullying beggars.
And she doesn't answer, but I thought it was heavily implied from the framing of the scene and the look on her face that she would have vastly preferred that, at least, to what actually happened?
She does answer; she says, "I wish you'd fought." I think her feelings are probably pretty mixed, but that it's also clear that it's the dishonour that plagues her the most, not his presence in her life. Her suggestion that they move town comes almost immediately after; getting away from the situation is more important to her than getting away from the marriage. It's a "with your shield or on it"-mentality that's pretty messed up, but ( ... )

Yeah, I think it's partly that, and partly the common philosophy perpetuated by shows, of "if it didn't happen to someone we love, it doesn't matter."
Oh cool, thanks for the clarification, I'd forgotten that.
Possibly I've watched this stuff too many times. :-) Though rewatching again now, I find that I'd still forgotten something - after that, she also says, "Don't you?"

Hook might yet be a rogue good guy, but he's far from that right now.

Hook has shifted allegiance at least four times in six episodes (and that's counting the one he wasn't in), which suggests that if the good guys can give him what he wants, he's not above playing for their team for a little while, but it doesn't mean anything for the future.

And Hook is ridiculously easy on the eyes, but a lot of that is character. I mean, I've seen Colin in The Rite, and he's cute there, but it's not the kind of cute that really stands out. So I think the fangirls would be better off keeping him in character, but they evidently disagree.
Come to think of it, several of them seem to want to pair Hook's exterior with his Rite persona, which doesn't really work at all. I've even seen one fic that has him as a priest. BECAUSE THAT WORKS SO WELL.

It has to be the pirate gear. Buckling the swash and all that. It would make even poor Archie sexy (er?).
Graham might have done, had he lasted past learning why he was a morose lump in Storybrooke...which is why there are several return from death fics at AO3 I'm sure! But. Well. Dead.

Aw, poor Archie. I have seen Archie/Marco fic, that made me happy. :-)
