The first season of Fringe is rather uneven, with quite a few icky monster-of-the-week episodes, but it starts getting better towards the end of the season when the big arc really starts showing. And it has just gotten better and better with each season.
Avatar: The Last Airbender starts out as amusing kiddie stuff, but it gets more serious storylines as the story goes on. I've also seen the first two episodes of the new series, The Legend of Korra, which looks quite promising.
Most shows tend to get better after a while. I guess it's just a question of how long I can hang in there. I'm definitely interested in seeing more so far, though.
Do watch the Big Bang Theory. It is actually very funny and heart-warming and there are great, lovable characters. You won't regret watching it from the start ;)
Oh, I love it already. I'm just a bit lazy when it comes to structured watching of it. The reruns air Monday-Thursday two at a time between 7 and 8 pm, so I miss them every Monday and Tuesday, catch them on Wednesdays and Thursdays if I'm lucky, and then on Fridays I go, "Damn! There isn't any today!"
I just started watching Avatar: The Last Airbender on netflix! Charming is exactly the word.
Community is my favorite sitcom on TV right now, but I will say it took several episodes before I really got into it. It's sort of like Arrested Development in that there are many threads of jokes that last for many episodes or even through the entire series, so it's worth it to watch from the beginning. I really started to like it around the first Halloween episode. The characters do change somewhat as they find their way and what works best for the actors. Jeff, Britta, and Troy particularly go through some character tweaking.
I'd say that Community is the one that seems least interesting so far, but it's also the first one I got the second episode of (though I haven't seen it yet), so who knows?
Keep going on Avatar. The first episode is a nice introduction to the characters, but it doesn't really express the full range and depth of storytelling the show is capable of. That show is amazing.
No, I was wary of it. Maybe I should, seeing how much I loved Profit (which I never would have given a shot if not for the Pasdar). Then again, Jim Profit didn't kill for kicks... IDK.
If I remember correctly, Dexter didn't take time to grow - you like the first episode, you like the series. And he kills for kicks about on the same level as Damon.
