GeekGirlCon had a link on Facebook to Chrome's genderswap plugin Jailbreak the Patriarchy, which replaces gendered pronouns and other common words with that of the opposite sex. I plugged it in, and now my friends list are mentioning TV shows such as The Good Husband, American Mom, and Family Girl. (It couldn't handle Desperate Housewives, though

You just made me flash back to reading the Norwegian novel Egalias døtre, a 70's feminist novel that uses a similar conceit, turning everything upside down. A bit too heavyhanded for my taste, but an interesting thought-experiment.

Yeah, it's not a new idea (I have a soft spot for the Star Trek genderswap picspam someone made), but it's quite fun to keep the plugin on for a while and forget that it's there... after a while, you go, "Hang on, X is a guy? Wait, no, it's the plugin."
