Trainwreck in 5... 4... 3...

One of my Facebook friends had the actual link to Christer Sjögren singing Lady Gaga, and dear God, it's worse than I had imagined, and thus, absolutely glorious.

I don't know who this is, but I love it. I think the song sounds great with his voice, and the chicken-dancing backup singers add to the comedic value, and in general, I love men singing Gaga.

I'm trying to think of an international comparison to Christer Sjögren, and I can't do it. I can't even think of an international comparison to his usual genre, which is dansband (music meant to dance waltz and foxtrot to). Of course, he's also done Elvis covers, musicals, and Christian pop.

Altogether, to a Swede it has the undeniable effect of granddad trying to be cool.

But there are lots of cool grandads out there!

It seemed very William Shatner-esque.

Yeah, but he's not one of them.

Shatner might be a good comparison, though Sjögren is a well-respected singer, just in a fundamentally square genre.

I love Agneta Sjödin feigning (dear God, let her be feigning!) enthusiasm at the end.

Yeah! The use of "verkligen" two times that near is really not a sign of telling the truth, is it? :-)

I hope not.
