I've bought Göran Everdahl's new book Kom nu'rå!, about children's TV shows. It's not as good as his book on soaps - mostly, he just mentions various shows that used to air on TV, describes what they're about, and move on to the next one. But it does have its funny points, such as "Sigrid, where are you now? Eat fibres" and the description of

I was a major Pippi follower in my pre-reading days
(hence pre any and all films about her, I am old). I knew her as "Peepee" and would do physical violence to whomever dared disagree (unrelated but coincidental, shortly thereafter we relocated to a community that had major Swedish roots and so everyone insisted on calling me Keeeersten. I was mostly into Ronja and Madicken. (Madicken doesn't get half the credit she deserves, IMO.) Pippi was so far detached from any kind of reality that I didn't appreciate her until much later. Also, as a kid I vastly preferred Ilon Wikland to Ingrid Vang Nyman. But Pippi is definitely an iconic figure, hence my icon. :-)

Sounds reasonable. I'm not sure if the German actors spoke their lines in Swedish or German, truth be told.

At the school where I worked before, they sang both. I'll have to see what they sing here...
