On her own, she can be quite good in stories that let her showcase her reporter talents.

Oh, yes. See, for instance, 'Killer on the Line', where she's both working and bouncing off Spike, Frazz and Lynda, and which I love to death.

It's amazing how two episodes designed to be so similar can be so frustratingly different in quality...

Speaking of Press Gang and Sarah, though, I have to say that part of my love for the show is that it has plots and sometimes whole episodes that pass the Bechdel test effortlessly, because their whole point is the friendship of Lynda and Sarah - 'Friendly Fire' is amazing that way.

Yeah, "Killer on the Line" is brilliant, and in a way that's another problem with "She's Got It Taped" - we know how well a story like that can be spun.

Yes, and "Friends Like These" too (which also has those wonderful bits with Sam and Lynda). Really, there's Bechdel-passing in most eps, which makes you wonder why so many shows find it so hard to do.
