I guess I should 'fess up about my Yuletide fic. It's really pretty obviously written by me, though I doubt any of you guessed it; but that's mainly because I doubt any of you read it. ;-) But that's okay, I pretty much knew I was cutting my potential readership in half by giving an advance peek to three of the DWJ fans on my flist ( Read more... )

You know they are making a film of Going Postal, don't you? With Richard Coyle as Moist. He's a bit too good-looking for Moist, IMO, but I kind of like what I've seen of him, so I don't mind. If he's a good enough actor, he'll pull off 'nondescript' anyway.

Oh, and ETA: I could definitely see Vetinary as surreptitiously grooming Moist to be his successor. ^^

I didn't know that, that's awesome! I've only seen Coyle in Coupling, where he's definitely not nondescript, but OTOH he's very funny, so I'm sure it will work. Amd OMG Poirot as Gilt!

I've seen him in the few eps of Coupling that I've watched, and also in the short-lived Strange, where he played a very serious demon-hunting ex-priest. XD Very different roles, and I liked him in both.

I don't think Moist necessarily has to be homely or nondescript in an unattractive way; just that his face is supposed to be rather forgettable. An open and pleasant-looking face that inspires confidence in people, but is very hard to describe two days later when they realize that he has disappeared with all their money. ^^

Oh, I didn't mean that Coyle was particularly attractive, just that, well, he stood out. :-) But then again, without the accent and the hair... yeah...
