just a bit of rambling about all sorts of things, with links

I'm almost done with my vid. Now I'm desperately moving around the last few clips, changing the timing here and there... and making statistic tables. Because I'm weird that way. I'll have great fun imposing my statistic table on you when I'm done ( Read more... )

You know i remember watching the pilot episode of Lost when it was shown on swedish TV years ago, i was so sure Kate was going to be the protagonist and that Jack was just a very annoying red herring that when the show ended and he was still alive i just stared dumbfounded at the screen thinking "he's the shows hero? him?".

LOL! Well, he was supposed to die in the pilot, but the producers wouldn't hear of it.

I remember referring to him in my LJ as "running around like The Little Engine That Could" or something like that.

The sad part is that I quite liked him in Party of Five.

What! Stupid producers! The pilot does feel "off" narrativetly, it would have made much more sense if he died.

As I understand it, everyone who wasn't JJ or Damon went, "You can't kill him, he's the protagonist! Keep him!" so they ended up killing Greg Grunberg instead. But a lot of things were different in that draft. Kate was more like Rose, Hurley didn't exist, nor did Jin and Sun (though the basic idea of a foreign-speaking couple was there), and Sawyer was more of a city slicker.

When is your birthday?

Not that I'm any good at writing fic...

24th of June. And don't feel compulsed, but I would be grateful. (Believe me, the writers I found at ff.net aren't any good either.)

I loved Baby Cyclops! Though I regret to say I haven't encountered any good Scott-fic based on Wolvie canon.

inlovewithnight does have a pretty awesome nuTrek Chekhov story here: So Many Different Suns.

Thanks! That was a lovely fic.

Yeah, re Cyke, there are fics out there but they're PAINFULLY bad. As in, I can't blind myself enough to finish them bad. Good to know I'm not the only one who enjoyed seeing the kid, though.

Oh, yes, I was at the movie with wabbitseason, and inlovewithnight and my sister -- who is kind of a civilian in this matter. The three fangirls (especially me and Wabbit) just started bouncing and kept it up the whole time baby Cyke was on screen. Sister thought we were kind of nuts but what can you do?

Incidentally, I have always thought this use of "baby" was a fandom thing, but I heard a radio story about the composer Haydn this morning, which referred to a portion of his early life by talking about "baby Haydn." Interesting. . .

Hee! That's adorable.

Googling "baby Cyclops", though, brings completely different results. :-)

I haven't seen baby cyclops yet, so I can't there. And I'm no help on any of the other subjects...

But I do have a sudden urge to follow up on a fic I've been trying to revive for a little while, and I think your B-day might be a good motivator.

He was the best thing about the whole movie! Well, him and Gambit. And some of the Wolverine & Sabretooth scenes. And anything that didn't involve talking... or plot...

Coolness. :-) I should write some more for you too, but somehow I don't get much ficcing done these days. (Which is the primary reason I don't just sit down and write some baby Cyclops myself - I have half a dozen fics in the works already.)

I do no ficcing these days, but the most recent one I talked to you about (involving talking...) had a little plot snag that was keeping me from getting anywhere, and last night as I was going to sleep I figured out how to work around it. So I woke up inspired.

Now I just have to get through this work day and my evening to-do list, and get to writing.
