laurashapiro has a
very nice post about vids featuring characters of colour/made by people of colour, with lots of recs, and I found several new favourites, so that's fun.
I ransacked myself and realized that my vids suck from that perspective, because all I have is a couple of hispanics and everyone else is white or white-ish. I thought about which CoC I might possibly vid, and considered Clyde Langer, because for some reason Clyde/Luke is my slash OTP in the Whoniverse. You'd think with all the canon possibilities I'd pick a pair of adults, but no. I just love the way Clyde deals with Luke's brand-new-ness, and their dynamic if they ever entered a romantic relationship would be really interesting.
So I started thinking about possible songs and the first thing that popped into my head was Dat Dere, which is clearly a Luke song, not a Clyde song. Meh.
I'll just keep mulling this for later. *g*

I then wondered if I could post something else for IBARW, but a) I don't want to change my icon :-P and b) I've already posted about
racial relationships in Sweden, and right now I have no particular desire to talk about race in a way that would require me to be relevant for parts of the world I have never lived in and probably never will.
Then I thought, maybe I should just shut up and let the people who know something do the talking.
But then it occurred to me that a picture says more than a thousand words, and even though I have (through pictures of the kids at work) convinced
jadelennox that a typical Swedish child looks vaguely North African *g*, the conventional image of a Swede is still very blond.
Therefore, here are 30 images (sometimes with videos and/or links to websites) of more-or-less famous Swedish people to add some melanin to the stereotype. Several of them are really hot, too, so do take a look!

As you may have noticed, a few of these may be born elsewhere and even have lived most of their lives there, but we only have nine million people, we have to count everyone!
Even so, I didn't count Barbara Hendricks, despite her citizenship, because AFAIK she's never lived here for a longer period of time.
I'm sure I've missed lots and lots of people, so any Swedes on my friend list, feel free to add them in comments!
