I have only seen 4 or 5 episodes, but I do love Jack's character in Torchwood. I think you're right - it is great because he is both bi, and human! Or time-traveling space pirate (is he human? Do we know?)

I think it has been confirmed that he's more or less human. Of course, I lean towards the idea that he's got some alien ancestors there too, but I don't really have any proof in that direction except some rather dubious canon and the fact that nothing contradicts it so far. :-)

Torchwood is overwhelmingly bisexual, but I much prefer that to the alternative.

I got mad at the beginning of the fall season because of Logo (the gay network over here). All their gay shows were the kinda sitcom things I don't watch anyways. I'm certainly not going to watch it because all the characters are gay. I think this is perhaps why I don't really care for Queer as Folks. Torchwood is good crack, but where are my genre shows with characters that happen to be gay? Dark Angel is the only one I can think of that had a character that was gay and no one cared. It wasn't a plot point. She was just gay.

Anways, sorry for the mini rant. Have you watched Shelter? It's rather good.

I liked Original Cindy, but she didn't get to date much or have much to do, so while I agree with you that the attitude to her sexuality was great, I'd still rather have a more main character.

And no, I haven't watched Shelter. Never even heard of it, in fact. *goes to check it up*

Watched Shelter right away. It was a very sweet film, even if it was still an Issue movie and not quite what I was looking for. I liked it, though, so thanks for the rec!

How's about The L Word? I can't remember you discussing it in the past.

The show is very often about Being Gay, but it's also a fairly standard drama (especially in its later seasons), no different from other primetime soap operas about straight people.

I've tried The L Word once or twice, but didn't make it through an episode. I'm not really into relationship-focused TV shows these days - even Brothers & Sisters is atypical for me. (I suspect I like it because there's so much about family relations, which I find more interesting than romance. And also, melodrama like whoah.) I should probably give The L Word more of a chance at some point, but I haven't found a reason beyond the lesbian characters yet.

*reads synopsis* That seems very complicated and exactly my kind of thing. Thanks! Will watch!
