Being Human, Eowyn the porn queen, and vindictive anti-vampire woodsmen

I saw the Being Human pilot yesterday, and though I'm aware most of you have probably seen it already, I just have to have to HAVE TO pimp it anyway, because my God, I can't recall the last time I loved a pilot this much this fast. I think I loved it the moment I heard the premise: A British drama about a werewolf, a vampire, and a ghost sharing a ( Read more... )

If you don't mind crossovers, quite a few people have said nice things about a Buffy/Galadriel story I once wrote.

... Now I kind of want to see Being Human. Must resist!

I am very scared of the fic excerpts you've posted, heh. Thanks for sharing, or... something. I'm a little scared of LOTR fic in general, but I thought I remembered some from a BtVS/AtS fan. That person has since taken down her site, as she's trying to get her original work professional publication, but here are three that are might help ease your friend's pain: Soft, Numenelisse, and Orturmoriwen. Last two are BtVS crossovers; "Numenelisse" has spoilers up to the beginning of S7 or so. I'm very lukewarm on them, but they're definitely better than what you've quoted.

I've commented with another quick Robin rec over at selenak's lj. Despite the fact that it's a crossover with Alias, which I know little about, it's got a great Faith voice and I enjoyed it. *thumbs-up à la Robin*

Why resist? It's only an hour of your time, since they haven't made a full series yet. Sure, it's an hour likely to be followed by obsession, but hey, worse things can happen.

It's available on the BBC3 iPlayer, though I think that only works in the UK. It's also available on torrents.

You're very welcome. Always fun to share the brainbreaking. *evil grin*

Thanks! I'll pass them on.

I managed to dig up some Cruel Intentions/Dangerous Liasions fic for her on yuletide, that helped somewhat I think.

Yay! I'm not done with the first batch yet, but I'm enjoying myself tremendously.

I liked the pilot as well- my reaction as I watched it was prety much "yeah, yeah, bad vamps in shades plotting to take over the world, get back to the tea-making and banter!", which may mean that if the series does get made and is all plotty I'd be disappointed, but I thought it was very good. Genuine sense of danger in the locked-in-a-room bit, too.

The plotty vamp bits had Adrian Lester, which is always nice, so I won't complain if those bits stay in if and when they make a series, but I won't complain if they don't either.
