I think when things are pompously serious the way a lot of passion stories are, you just have to spoof it. It wouldn't be fun if they'd done it with Jesus Christ Superstar for example, because even when it's serious, it's not solemn in the same way.

Yeah, pompous stuff makes better fun material, but I think everything can be made fun of. I guess. Whether you're making fun of the actual thing, or you make fun just...for fun, well, there's a difference.
