I'm worried that the removal of Zach as a friend will be part of removing Claire from her family setting and into Roadtrip Hero setting, where everyone else bar Parkman and Nathan Petrelli seem to be headed. Hiro has a sidekick, why not Claire?

Sidekicks are good. Shows like these need sidekicks, especially very good sidekicks like Zach, Ando and Audrey.
