Sword and Sheath (final chapters)

Jan 29, 2006 08:56

So, here are the last chapters of the Faith fic, edited and all. I'm not sure what to do with it now - it's not like I'm on any Faith communities or lists. I suppose I'll have a look around, and if I don't find anything I'll put it up on my site and condemn it to oblivion ( Read more... )

Just read it all in one go. Amazing story, you captured Faith perfectly. Loved seeing Crowley too -- you really fleshed him out.

Great read.

Thanks! I'm really glad you liked it! Since I don't usually write Faith, it's good to know my take on her worked for you. And obviously I couldn't resist Crowley - I love writing about non-parent parents. :-)

eeek, I lied -- 88 pages in word. Not so much with the printing out or the finishing today, but I've got all the chapters saved on my laptop now.

You're a goddess of the long fic. As much as I enjoy (and, mostly, write) one-scene vignette-y stuff, it's great to read something that's so original and well-plotted, so thanks!

LOL! Okay, let me know when you're done. And thank you so much for the "goddess" comment, which I don't think I really deserve. :-) The fic isn't even all that long - it's the longest single fic I've written, but nothing compared to the übernovels I've found in fandom!

I just finished reading through it all. Fantastiskt! You really managed to capture the characters' voices and wrote a very engaging story.

Thanks! I'm very glad you liked it, especially since I haven't written Robin at all before and not a lot of Faith either.

all read! so much to love --

first, I just adore that Robin is still working as a principal. I don't know why, but it never occurred to me that he would stay in that job, but very cool -- principal by day, wicked fighter by night.

I love the flashback dream, and the way Faith goes through with the beheading in spite of her doubts. And the ending just sucker-punched me. I wasn't expecting her to leave, after all that, but it makes perfect sense for her character.

And then of course, Buffy/Immortal -- my supersekrit OTP. I always he'd be kind of shemp in a fight!

Bravo!

Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm so very glad you liked the story and that you're giving me such food for thought!

I was the other way around - until this comment, it never occurred to me that he might not! The way I saw it, he needs a job and he knows how to do that one... but I didn't even give it any thought. (Always a scary thing to admit.)

"Shemp" is a Cordy word for, um, bad fighter? She uses it on Wes once or twice. ("She doesn't know you're a shemp!" re: Wes/Virginia in "Guise will be Guise"). I'm actually not sure what it means -- maybe from Shemp, the useless fourth Stooge, which would go along with calling Xander the Zeppo?
