Sometimes I think there's a higher power controlling my web use. Like today. I put a CD into my computer and it reacted by freezing. It refused to unfroze. It wouldn't restart - or rather, it'd restart up to the point where the desktop is supposed to come up, and then the screen went blue and froze. I waited half an hour and tried again. Hm. Perhaps Gunn's heterosocial tendencies are built in from the younger age. After all, it's not as if his environment would nurture/encourage him to deny feelings. Perhaps, suppression and the creation of a heterosocial, stress on the social environment with women.

Until he starts falling into the 'protective' netting of Angel Investigations, where nothing is normal? Cordy and her visions, Angel and his vampiricism, Wes being a watcher, magic, etc. Not just humans, not just normal, and the further away he gets from the gang, the more he lets his real self out?

I ... honestly am just rambling here, but Wes/Gunn = OTP!

I think the part of letting his real self out is true, but I'm not so sure about the rest of it... The crew he surrounds himself with is mostly male, and it seems like he would benefit from having better relationships with them - i.e. becoming *more* homosocial, instead of less. For a man, heterosociality is rarely a desired option. (While a woman is supposed to be homosocial in private and heterosocial in her profession.)

I definitely know what you mean about Gunn. I really want to some day write a Gunn/Angel story, but I just can't get it to work in my head. I've written Wes/Gunn and Gunn/Spike, but then Wes and he have the special bond and Spike is just everyone's little black dress. It's the rest of the characters that puzzle me.

*laughs at Spike as a little black dress, because it's so true*

Gunn/Angel is a very difficult relationship to write - I certainly couldn't do it.
