well, Riley was a good boyfriend, he cared alot and was sweet and nice (although annoying). I just don't like Riley when he gets too involved with B, but it's the same thing with Angel and Spike, I love Angel in S1 (which you damn well know) but I really don't care for him when he's involved with B. Except for when he's Angelus *g*.
I kinda liked Parker 'cause he made her feel so damn insecure (and sometimes it's nice to see her like that as well), but that was more comic value, plus I really love the talk-scene with Willow ("Just how gullible do you think I am?").
Owen for me was just plain boooooooring, ugly, boring, dull, etc etc etc. Who would ever choose a boring person like that instead of Pretty-boy-Angel (when he still was young, snarky and PRETTY)??

Well, boring has it's advantages - less of a risk that he'll try to kill your friends and make ornaments of their pets.
I wonder if it's really that Buffy has a bad taste in boyfriends, or if it is that everyone turns bad when they're her boyfriends... I mean, the ones I think are mostly okay are Robin and Pike, and they both escaped in time. And Spike shapes up considerably when he leaves Sunnydale, even if he's never quite up to the standard he had with Drusilla.
Yeah, I quite like Riley in "Something Blue", and in "Hush" too when he smashes the wrong thing and looks all pleased about it. *smiles at the memory* But after that he's all "oh, my girlfriend is stronger than me, she doesn't talk to me, whiiiiiiine." The way I see it, if your girlfriend is that far from what you want her to be, it's better to just find someone else. Which I guess he did, eventually.

Angel was great before and after B., Spike too, even Riley was fun before ("I'm a lesbian")too.
So I say it's Buffy that make them go bad.
