Yesterday, we had a new teacher. Skinny guy, thick dark hair, pale skin, prominent nose, leather jacket and an Irish accent. Anyone want to guess what his surname was? *grin

The Passion of The Christ is in theaters soon - this week on Wednesday.. what do you think about this movie? I'm going to see it for sure - the trailers were enough to convince me. I read somewhere that it's the widest opening ever for a subtitled movie; I have a feeling subtitles won't detract from the full effect of this movie though. After looking at the trailers which have no subtitles or english at all, it was reinforced for me that lack of spoken english in this film won't hurt one bit. To sum up my impression of The Passion: it's a work of art. Good Website Another fascinating aspect to this movie is all the controversy that has been generated about it. Some people, not really representative of Jewish people, but rather self appointed Jewish spokespeople, such as Abraham Foxman from the Anti-Defamation League, seem to have been attempting to denounce this film for months as being anti-Semitic. The news reported that they even stole the script last year! But here's what some Jews say (Jews who don't make it their job to

I might end up doing that, if this continues, but two spams (both Passion-related) aren't enough for me to want to take it out on everyone else who hasn't got an account.
What I *do* want is the ability to send a really juicy curse on the spammers. :-)
I think I could guess. Just possibly. With reference to certain of your favorite fictive characters. He sounds easy on the eyes, at any rate. ;)
And now I realize my complete incomprehension of exchange rates into SEK -- the handful of books I've ordered from university presses in Sweden (Lund, as a matter of fact) have helpfully been translated into either euros or U.S. dollars.

You probably *could* guess. It sounds like you could.
And I think he did look good, but I can't tell exactly how good, because I'd gotten my period that day and was in pain and couldn't think of much else. But according to my classmates, a happy sigh went through the class when he spoke. :-)

*suppressing squee that you've bought books from my home town and checking currency converter instead*
The books cost 50 dollars/40 euro. The glasses 830 dollars/667 euro. The Press Gang DVD, which I didn't mention the price of before, cost 28 dollars/22.5 euro, plus shipping.
So the books were cheap, the glasses were not, and the DVD cost what such things usually
