I'm still hung up on The Stand. I entered Pocket the Bookstore today and left with the unabridged version, as well as Coraline, Night Watch and Fellowship of the Ring. (Before you lose all respect for me, I do have the Ring trilogy, just not in English.) If anyone wants my copy of the abridged Stand, let me know

There is an X Files crossover called Last One Standing - it's not really to my taste because of its treatment of the supporting characters (in particular Krycek towards the end is IMO unrecognisable), but the Mulder and Scully treatment is pretty good. It's loooooong. Worth a look.

Starry Night
A short Nick and Tom friendship piece. Very sweet.
The Stand
Loooong crossover with Buffy. I have to admit I have only skimmed this one, since it had no Stand characters, but some parts of it seemed pretty moving. There are eight chapters so far, and it's a WIP.
Strange Angels
Another WIP, though not a crossover. Well written and very in character, with some Stu/Larry towards the end. Major flaw is that it hasn't been updated since 2002.
The Dreams Begin
Buffy crossover again, this one mostly Cordelia and some Angel. This one I read all the way through even *though* it was a crossover, because I liked it quite a bit.
Atomic Fireball
A short Tom/Nick piece. Nice and sort of mellow. (Am a little troubled by the pairing. Am also a bit troubled about being troubled about the pairing - why *shouldn't* they get together if they want to? Perhaps you'll feel neither of those things, in which case reading will be a purer joy.)

I'm more likely to lose respect for you for actually owning LoTR in 2 languages... (oh dear oh dear oh dear...) Someone at university buggered off with my copy 5 years ago, and I've never bothered to buy another. *evil grin*

There is, though not all that much and even less good. *sigh* Hard to write when people die left and right, I guess.

Well, I still only have RotK in Swedish... when I've bought that one too, I might very well sell my Swedish copies. If I like reading the English ones, that is - I haven't tried them yet, and I've heard that the translation is *very* different from the original.

I used to have both editions of the stand novel. Should probably look it up on DVD, but then I was most upset about Nick Andros dying 3/4 of the way through. I thought it was terribly interesting to have a deaf-mute character be the man in charge. All the little details about communication between that character and the others was really what fascinated me so much about the book/movies.
