Work Thought of the Day

Nov 08, 2011 14:55

"It's like talking to a goddamn brick wall."

This thought brought to you by every halfwit moron with a Ph.D. or who is in grad school who can't follow fucking directions, even after I've told them and emailed the information to them five times in a row.

B-but but but our brains are so full of lofty thoughts and stuff...?

LOL, no, you're totally right. I've had to ask our secretary a million times for a certain form. I always apologize for being a flake, at least.

You have no idea how frustrating it was for me when I worked at the university, that all these people with massive titles could be so dumb-witted and idiotic with the simplest things that I, simple bachelor degree, had to explain it four times or speak...slowly... to get it through. But yeah, those were the same with titles, masters and degrees who accepted the most obvious virus in an e-mail and were completely confused as to why the entire server system was down the next second. "Huh? What do you mean, I shouldn't have opened that file and clicked 'yes'?" ARGH RARWR

Things like this are why it always cracks me up when people try to equate academic success/"importance" with any sort of meaningful real-world success. Correlation definitely does not equal causation there, lol.
