YuYu Musings

So, yes, my love for YuYu Hakusho has been revived due to the recent purchase made by apollymi of the entire series at Best Buy (Best Buy is awesome for many things, notably that is literally the only retailer in Tallahassee that carries new Mac items). We've blown through the first of the four box sets, and are most of the way through Disk One of Four on ( Read more... )

I will admit to loving the hell out of Kurama, but I don't really see Kurama/Hiei as a ship. Hiei is far too edgy for him. I think you're right--on personality alone, Hiei/Yusuke makes a lot more sense! I hope you write some soon?

(I suddenly note that I have no YuYu icon. This must be amended. Situation corrected!)

The dynamic just makes sense to me. And, I got a lot of mileage during the beginning of the Dark Tournament arc wherein Yusuke is asleep for the first handful of episodes and Hiei hovers over him like a mother hen with one chick, which makes me a happy little thing.

I have plans for YuYu writing in my bingo card (mwahahahah), so it'll definitely be coming!

I LOVE YYH!!!!!!!!! I'm SOOOOO jealous that you have it all. I only saw all of it because Aoe got bad Hong Kong subbed DVDs, where they switched Hiei and Kurama's names through the ENTIRE THING. Very annoying. But I love Kurama... but Hiei/Kurama... not Kurama/Hiei... totally different vibe. Did you know that the seiyuu for Yuusuke is Nagi's?! And the same one did Shin (Yoroiden Samurai Troopers) and Chihaya (Earthian). *brain breaks*

I can totally see Hiei/Yuusuke but yeah, I know there is a severe shortage of decent fics, let alone with this pairing.

On an amusing note, I have all of the series except episodes 101 through 108 on VHS fansubs. 51 through 101 and 109 through 112 are all the Hong Kong wacky subs.

I had to have the DVDs. I needed to know what the hell was being said, because frankly my Japanese isn't good enough to pull anything away from the HK wacky subs. Best Buy had them all for $20 per season (about 30 episodes per set), so I jumped on it.

And now I'm broke. But it's a happy broke with good things to watch.
