"A person who seems to be able to bear Akio Otsuka Anavel Gato" is an image that she expresses, and she is listed as one of the most prolific Japanese voice actors on Anime News Network.
In a career span of thirty years, Masako Katsuki has lent her voice to animation, drama CDs, Japanese dubbed TV dramas and movies, video games, and narration.
In countries outside of Japan, she is probably best known as the the impetuous Tsunade (綱手) from the internationally famous NARUTO, elegant Michiru Kaioh/Sailor Neptune (海王みちる／セーラーネプチューン) from Sailor Moon, cool General Klaud Nyne (クラウド・ナイン) from the anime adaption of Katsura Hoshino's comic D.Grayman, Galactic Empire member Hildegard von Mariendorf (ヒルデガルド・フォン・マリーンドルフ) from Legend of the Galactic Heroes (Ginga Eiyū Densetsu), and the soldier of love Cecilie von Spitzberg (フォンシュピッツヴェーグ卿ツェツィーリエ) or "Celi" (ツェリ) from Kyou Kara Maou.
This community was created to honor and support Katsuki and her career.
To many fans, the quality of her voice has been described as "noble", "seductive" (色気), "strong", "serious, "dignified" (凛々しい, gallant/manly), elegant, and "brave" (勇ましく). Katsuki often performs adult women such as Tsunade herself, or characters of an "adult or noble atmosphere" such as Michiru Kaioh and Ronin Warriors's (Aka: Yoroiden Samurai Troopers) Kayura. Because of her performances, she has created a strong reputation in voicing sexy characters. Parallel to that, is her penchant for voicing characters that are strong and brave.
Many of Katsuki's roles are described as "strong-minded" (男勝り or 気の強い) or "virago types", "beautiful" (美人; beauty), "intellectual" (知的), "bullish" and "firm" (強気). Aside from adult roles, Katsuki has also performed the roles of girls and [very few] boys; also, one of her first roles happened to be an animal.
Katsuki's singing ability also gained good reception and has landed her one of her most popular characters: the goofy Maria Kutchera of Trapp Ikka Monogatari, an animated re-telling of Maria Trapp's family. She also released one album called Ame ha suki desu ka? (雨は好きですか); for the anime "Dragon Quest: Legend of the Brave Abel", she performed its third ending theme and a couple other insert songs.
Katsuki seems to have often appeared in both mecha and action works, and there's an impression on fans that she is good at exclaiming (絶叫) such as the teacher Ikari Masuyo from Kimengumi!High School, and laughing loudly (高笑い). Within the numerous Japanese dubs of Western TV series and movies, she often voices Jodie Foster, Julia Roberts, Julianne Moore and Sharon Stone. There are also performances in adult works and BL Drama CDs.
In the 1990's issue of the Anime Grand Prix magazine Animage, Katsuki was ranked #18 in the "top female voice actor category (Reference) super luck?. Also, some of her characters such as Michiru and Maria have been list in the "top female characters" categories in different years.
Not much is known (or found) about Katsuki's personal life such as favorite food or school, but her favorite animal is a cat and she loves golf and is a shameless plugger for golf. She was born in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, and sometime later, she moved to Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture.
One of her favorite movies is the 1973 horror film The Exorcist; one of her favorite actors is Isobe Tsutomu, and one of her favorite singers is JULIE (Sawada Kenji).
81 Produce member Megumi Toyoguchi had mentioned in her blog that the voice actor she really respects and wishes to aim for (尊敬・目標とする) is Katsuki herself. In addition, Toyoguchi said that her favorite roles of Katsuki are the heroines Maria and Tiara. Unfortunately, her blog is down and the full article can't be shown. But it was wonderful to see. Toyoguchi even has the Dragon Quest anime SDTK.
Other/Trivia
~ Seems to be a good friend of Nakamura Chie (Sakura Haruno of NARUTO) since before Naruto's airing.
~ It is often said that Katsuki's voice, or maybe just her bass voice, is similar to Yuriko Yamaguchi. Many fans (including myself) have believed that she had performed Dr. Ritsuko Akagi of the GAINAX anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and Nico Robin of "ONE PIECE".
~ Changes the color of her hair a lot. She is often seen with bright hair such as red, orange, and blonde.
~ Went to Naruto City (in Tokushima) in 2010.

2.) Please use LJ cut to cover large pictures as they can stretch your browser and friend pages. Also, if you have a slow connection, they can take a while to load. Photos of Katsuki herself and her characters (definitely) are examples of what is allowed.
3.) Advertisement and linking is allowed if it's related to seiyuu/voice overs, Katsuki Masako herself (ie: Fanpage, blog, etc), her characters, or works that she appears in (ie: Kaioh Michiru FC, Naruto FC, SRW FC, links to trailers).
