It's not improbable that we could still spend New Years' in Pasadena; it's just become a lot harder.
No, it hasn't. If the Bears defeat U$c next Saturday, the Bears get to spend New Years in Arroyo Seco.
Even if the Bears had beaten the cats, they would still have pretty much needed to have beaten the Trojenz to go to Pasadena, the only other additional outs would have been... 1. UCla beating U$c... not bloody likely. 2. U$c advancing to the national title game AND Cal retaining a high enough BCS standing to back in to the Rose Bowl. Again, not bloody likely.
Honestly, I think that next week's game being for the Rose Bowl is pretty damned cool. If the Bears win, there's no question that they will have earned the right to play in Pasadena.
