One of the American commentators on the BBC just laughed outright when someone suggested Palin for 2012.

But what you say about America only truly consiging racial issues when there's a republican african american ..... don't you think the 2012 election will be Hilary Clinton Vs Condaleeza Rice (with Obama running for a second term)? If that happens, I don't think there will be a contest ...

At least Palin will get a chat-show on Fox.

Dunno about Condaleeza, she's badly polluted by her Bush associations. Perhaps four years is long enough for people to have forgiven and forgotten < shrugs >.

Palin 2012 will only happen if Obama looks like a lock for 2012, and no serious Republican candidate can be found willing to spend their one shot at the title fighting a hopeless cause.
