Tis the season to be jolly, and also the season of holiday movies. I know some of you may not watch tv enough to see all the trailers, so I just wanted to share this holiday bounty with you:
Haha, I knew everyone would be excited about Rickman. I am curious how the lead will pull off his role... I originally thought that Jonathan Rhys Meyers would be good for the role, in a Gormenghast sort of way. But he's changed since.
The girl is Rachel Hurd-Wood--she played Wendy in the recent Peter Pan. The book was translated awhile ago and became a best-seller. :-D
What does the British poster look like? The American one is a black-and-white photo of a girl dissolving into rosepetals, which sounds nicer than it looks. (It's very cliche.)
Only few hours ago we talked about that topic in German class. *g* - I am not into movie versions, but enjoyed Das Parfüm. It was beautiful and abhorrent at the same time, combining gorgeous pictures and that cruel story. The odourlessness thing doesn't become very clear, though, and Ben Whishaw was in my opinion too much of a sympathetic figure (his looks as well as his motivation; I started to take pity on him). But within the possibilities of film, this adaption is great, especially the Plum Girl scene is awesome.
Yep! And the girl in Parfum was only 15 during the filming. I've already heard a lot of people worry about her having to be nude for the movie and being so young. (Though I have no idea if that is true.)
That said, that's the right age, novel-accuracy-wise. The other girls in the movie (there are a number of them) have been revised to be older, but they were all supposed to be in their very early teens.
Right. The film has several red-haired women. According to the plot of the book at least, all of them have to end up naked at some point. (It just depends how much they'll show and pf what.) It's not exactly sexual nudity per se, though.

Rocky: If the Rocky films *were* about wrestling, I'm sure they'd be a lot more interesting XD

And wow. Both young actresses (In Nativity and Das Parfum) are 16. They really do keep making them younger.
