Shawn and I recently had the opportunity to buy half a cow (really a bull I think but for the sake of keeping it simple, I'll just say cow). Yeah, that should have read...grass-fed, not grain fed. A small point, but important.

I like the American Indian's philosophy of being grateful for the animal's life enriching his own. It's respectful. As much as possible, the animals should be treated humanely and be made comfortable during their lifetimes.

We all live at the expense of other lives. Even vegetarians cause the death of the plants they consume. It's hypocritical to pretend otherwise.
