Dog!

So, I did it. I have a dog. He is a very chill dog. He's a rescue, and a purebred miniature black poodle. I have named him Aramis. He needs grooming, but I did give him a bath. The cats aren't so sure they like this, but they're not declaring war. Othniel has no problems with him, and Aramis just leaves them alone. He's been around cats

Dogs are awesome. I love them to bits. (They love me back. I nearly got adopted by a Great Dane once. Tried to take me home as I came back from the laundromat.)

How go things with Aramis?

Well, he finally looks like a poodle and not like a mop. We've had a few communication issues over the last few days, but he's being much, much better. I'm still new at this ... dog owning thing. They are very different than cats.

He is awesome on a leash. Doesn't pull and is perfectly well mannered. He keeps trying to get the cats to play with him. They keep saying "No. Go away, noisy-dog-thing."

The cats are, however, used to him. They won't play with him, but they'll eat with him, and they'll sleep with him. It's a good thing I have a pretty large bed.

All in all, things are good. And I'm getting him enough exercise that he's not becoming neurotic.

Love it! I'm so glad that it's working out. Dogs are definitely different from cats. It sounds like you're doing a great job with him. That's a great picture too!
