I've watched the first four episodes of Downton Abbey! One of my favorite bits so far was Mrs. Patmore trying to explain to Daisy why Thomas wasn't the right sort of boy for Daisy and why Daisy wasn't the right sort of girl for Thomas, lol. And I love Bates and Anna. And Violet! Maggie Smith is hilarious. :D
This show is ridiculously soapy and melodramatic, but SO GOOD. Especially Violet Crawley! Hee. She has all the best lines and she's totally awesome. She right out of a Oscar Wilde play.
I don't really like Thomas in S1, but when he appeared in the trailer for S2 and the opening episode at the weekend, I did squee with happiness. He’s got under my skin somehow. Plus the spoilers about him in S2 interest me very much.
I love Anna and Bates too! They're my OTP along with Sybil and Branson. The big romantic pairing of the show is Matthew/Mary but I'm not really interested for lots of reasons.
I hope you like the show! It's bit like marmite, I think.
I'm loving it! I love soapy, melodramatic shows, lol. I don't like Thomas yet; if I were Daisy, I'd be smitten with William. Poor Daisy, not the brightest crayon in the box. :)
I do like Matthew (and his mother - I adored her for pushing and pushing until they gave the adrenaline treatment to the poor farmer) and I'm growing to like Mary, but so far I just have no real interest in them as a pairing. It must be that elusive 'chemistry' thing, and Bates and Anna, both of them so quiet and sweet and unassuming, have it in spades. If I didn't like anything else about the show (but I do!) I would keep watching just to see what happens with them.
As you can tell by my icon usage, I'm excited for S4 Merlin. Soon, so soon. :)
S4 MERLIN!!! OMG, so I'm excited. I've read bits and pieces, but tried to stay away from big spoilers. I have read that Merlin and Gwen are still BFFs, though, which makes me sooooo happy. They're adorably dorky. I love your icon, it's so cute.
I've actually been reading a bit of Lancelot/Merlin fanfic. I think it's the promo pictures. They're so slashy, especially with those two lol. They're really treating us well, aren't they? :D
