Hey, you! I've been HORRIBLE about checking in on people lately, but when I heard about the riots, I thought about my Brit friends and hoped you were far away from the danger. I don't think Signe's in London, either, right? You guys stay safe.
Hope you've been well! I watched S1 of The Vampire Diaries and really enjoyed it, but then we had to miss season two because of school-related stuff and I just never got caught up again. I should get the S2 discs from Netflix. Ian Somerhalder is fantastic as Damon. He does the bad-boy-with-a-heart thing really, really well. (And he's easy on the eyes.) :D

There are lots of isolated, relatively minor incidents, but I'm nowhere near where the worst of it is. My friend lives in Clapham where proper scary rioting was happening, and she said it was pretty horrifying last night. And another lives near Camden and they said bricks were being thrown at motorists as they were driving through. It's just crazy.
Hmm, I wasn't too sure if I was going to watch TVD, I've poked my nose around enough to know that the canon ship is Sefan/Elena/Damon, while Bonnie and Damon have about 5 seconds of screentime together and have no reason to be an OTP besides from looking great in screencaps posted on Tumblr. This makes me sad and disinclined!! But I still semi-ship them anyway! And your recommendation and Ian Somerhalder is weakening my resolve :D
Oh Ian, he's just as gorgeous as Tom Welling circa 2001.

The Vampire Diaries is good, mindless fun! Bonnie and Damon do make a pretty picture and Damon (or maybe Ian, rather, lol) has chemistry with everyone and everything so their scenes together have a nice tension and they do make you think shippy thoughts. :) You're convincing me that I should make it a priority to watch S2!
I'll blather more at you in email form later. There's nothing big or important happening around here, but I'll probably babble on anyway. *g* Fannishly? I'm feeling sentimental about Harry Potter with the release of the last movie (haven't seen it yet though) -- it feels like it's really, really over... *sniff* ... so I'm re-reading all the books! What's that? Something about me having problems moving on? ;)
Damon/Ian sounds like Lex/MR. I remember I shipped Lex with Clark, Lana, Amy, his dad, bottles of water, I mean he even had chemistry with the furniture ♥ Oh, I miss SV!! I'll have to dig out some SV fic and indulge
