I have Polycystic ovarian syndrome, Von Willebrand disease, and Erythromelalgia

PCOS makes me have throw up from pain 2 week periods, vWD probably makes it worse by making me bleed longer as it means I randomly do not clot (not all the time, it is a surprise!), EM fucks my life up forever and makes me feel like my feet and hand are dunked in boiling ( Read more... )

the hell that is kat's health, angries, dumb

Have you considered speaking with a naturalist about ways to help alleviate your symptoms? I'm not anti-pharmaceuticals or anything, but I have horrible PMS and try to handle it with herbs because the side effects of birth control pills are major do not want.

I'm sorry you're going through all of this, and I hope you find a solution that works for you.

I'm going to try some acupuncture for the EM soon, what herbs do you take for PMS?

It depends on my symptoms. I have like, a billion teas at home with herbs in them. Lavender and Chamomile are good for rest, ginseng is good for energy, Republic of Tea makes a specific rooibos herb blend for hormonal balance. It's hard to name it all off the top of my head. ^^;

I tried Lavender and Chamomile for sleep before. Apparently I am immune, which isn't too surprising since I am immune to the regular pills as well as caffeine. I'll go look upt the Republic of Tea thing though.

I'm so so sorry to hear all this is happening in your life Kati... I wish I could help with advice or something to help at all, but I can't really do much. All I can do is let you know you're in my thoughts and I pray you'll be able to find a way to live through these rough times and hopefully overcome them. My heart goes out to you hun. *huggles tight*

I'm not even joking, do you think pot might help?

IDK, the smoke kind of makes me gag. >:

Yeah. Well there are vaporizers that kind of transform the smoke into a vapor so that's nto nearly as off putting.

Also, if you go to a doc, and suggest it, depending on the state if you get the go to be able to receive medicinal marijuana, there are lots of alternatives. They have food that's infused with the THC as well as beverages. So you can just eat like a cookie or something and be feeling much better in no time. ^_^

I'd say it's a least worth looking into if you're in a lot of pain and can't go for traditional treatments and medication.

Errr. Yeah. Not the same thing. It was a serious suggestion. ^_^

Cannabis really does help with pain.

And it's a really good alternative for when you're having issues and complications with different medications and what not.
