Game of Thrones - season 2 so far

I really need to re-read these books. It's been several years and my memory is fuzzier than I would like it to be. Keep that in mind while reading my thoughts, since I may be way off base on a few things.

( Cut for Game of Thrones spoilers -- mainly for the show so far but some vague spoilers for all five books as well )

Do you have HBO now? I still haven't been able to watch it--my usual streaming sites are having a hard time finding stable venues.

Yeah, I got HBO just before this season started. The cable company had a deal running where we could get HBO, Cinemax and some sports channel that my dad wanted all added to our service and actually SAVE like three bucks a month. :)
