Author Christie Golden updated her blog with some news about her upcoming novel "Arthas." Yes, that Arthas. It's now scheduled for release in April '09, and it'll be hardcover!

A bit more on the book )

Hrm, I might have to check that one out. I want to read one of hers but I'm totally bleh about Horde stuff, which her other 3 all are.

And yeah, my guild was totally thrilled to learn that all of my characters will have Murloc Suits now. (Can you hear the sarcasm? ;D) Nah really, I think they find it amusing. They always ask me to dance.

A raid full of players in Murloc suits with Murky and an army of his kin along side?

How cool would that be? ;D

I'm just hoping they allow me to mount my Blizzcon Polar bear in it!

I agree with Goldie's assessment. Arthas is much like Anakin Skywalker. He truly was heroic when he was on the side of light, much loved by his friends and allies, and an overall good person. There are times though when the greater evils can turn the love of these individuals and use it against them. Palpatine did it to Anakin just as the Lich King did it to Arthas, and that's what really makes the whole thing tragic. Being the greatest hero in the land also means that you can potentially fall farther than anyone else.

I will say that this new Arthas novel is going to be interesting. I'm looking forward to read it, and it'll be a more viable choice that Paolini's new book. ;)

I cringe every time I have to check in or out one of that brat's so-called novels, or the waste of celluloid that is the movie.
One college-age guy came through the checkout with the Red Brick my first week, and told me that someone stole his bag at the gym that contained his own copy, and he wanted to finish it. I boggled that anyone would WANT to finish that monstrosity, much less bother to go to the library to get a second copy in order to do so.
The Red Brick audiobook is on like 20 CDs, as you can imagine for a tome that size. Every time a copy gets returned, we have to go through and count to make sure each one is there. (People will accidentally leave a disc in their CD player so we have to make sure they're all there before we check it in. Missing discs happen more often than you'd think.) I inwardly curse that thesaurus-enamored hack every time I have to count all those.

*deep breath*

Um...yeah. ;)
