'Disappear' - Spooks fanfic.

Adam,

If I beg and if I cry, would it change the sky tonight? Will it give me sunlight? Should I wait for you to call, is there any hope at all? Are you drifting by?

When I think about it, I know that I was never held, or even cared. The more I think about it, the less that I was able to share, with you.
I try to reach for you, I can almost feel you, you’re nearly here, and then you disappear.

Love

Ros.

Screwing the letter up into a ball, she chucked it in the direction of the bin. It landed perfectly, unravelling slightly as it hit the plastic base. She’d never been any good at talking about or even revealing her true emotions. She could write them as meanings in between the lines of letters, but never directly. Never an I’m scared, I’m lonely or an I need you. The ‘L’ word was the same, probably why the phrase I love you had never left her lips. Not that she’d never loved anyone, that she had. Many times actually. She’d just never told anyone, ever. No, emotions just weren’t her thing. If there was any possibility she could hide them, ignore them, she would. This time though, however hard she tried to hide them, they found the surface; pouring through her eyes, seeping into her skin, embellishing her every pore. Nevertheless, no one had said anything, a fact she’d normally revel in given the circumstances. But this time, this time she almost wanted someone to have commented. To have made her aware that someone did care, or had at least noticed her. He was the only one that ever did ask the question. The first time she had shrugged him off, telling him to mind his own business, saying that she didn’t do emotions. She had spoken the truth, he’d never asked again. Now he was off screwing another woman.

She’d never been any good at talking about or even revealing her true emotions. If she was being honest, she would wish that they’d just disappear.
