For those of you who knew her and haven't yet heard, jenlev died yesterday of surgical complications related to cancer treatment. She was good people, and I'm feeling very sad right now that I won't see her again ( Read more... )

Oh, no. I am so sorry. I only knew her from seeing her around LJ, but I'm so sorry to hear this.

Wait, what? I knew she had had breast cancer years ago--I ran for her at a Race for the Cure a few years ago--but didn't realize she was still going through treatments for anything. She was always the sweetest and nicest person. I only ever knew her online but it feels like forever. She was one of the first Stargate fic folks I met on LJ, maybe it was even through Farscape. I made icons of her kitty Indigo when he was a tiny kitten and I knew she was posting less lately but I figured it was just the usual LJ waning.

I am shocked and sad :( Can I send a card or a donation or something?

Yes, if you have any information about this I would be glad to have it. sterlinglikesilver at hotmail if publicly is not a good idea. I knew her from way back in the Stargate Fandom. What a wonderful person.

Not to hijack Katie's post, but just to let you know -- the cancer came back very suddenly just about 1 month ago, maybe a little less. She went into the hospital, and never got to a point where she could go home. It had recurred in her stomach or pancreas; I'm not sure we got the final word on that. She was to have surgery, and then they were going to start chemo. Even with chemo, she'd been given 4-6 months, perhaps a year to year and a half at the very most. But yeah, this was a complete shock. She developed an infection from the surgery, and it was very sudden.

So sad to learn of her passing. She was such a lovely person and a great fan. We had such fun back in the heyday of SG-1. She will be missed.
