Achievement Unlocked: Left the house!

Feb 02, 2014 16:34

My apologies to the many fine citizens of this fair city who have now experienced my germs at the grocery store, but look, I was nearly out of tissues.

Have also unlocked Achievement: Watched at least half a dozen episodes of Property Brothers, which is enough to start thinking things like "I sure hope they actually had home inspections and all ( Read more... )

Asian apes like orangutangs only have two sinuses, in the cheeks, and not the ethmoid in the forehead. African apes, including humans, have all four. I mourn this fact every time I get a sinus infection (I'm on my third week of antibiotics, about to go on for another three weeks, ugh).

HGTV had a four episode run of Brian Boitano renovating an ancestral family villa in northern Italy, and I was totally hooked.

Feel better!

I think of you every time something happens with my sinuses. Thankfully while this is dragging on and on it is different every day, so I'm still assuming that I'm progressing.

I would totally watch that. (Was it called What Would Brian Boitano Rehab? ...probably not.)

Feel better!

The new Winter Soldier trailer helps. Didja see it didja didja? Damn straight Cap is now giving the orders because he is REAL TIRED OF TAKING Y'ALL'S SHIT, understand? He is DONE.

Thank you! Me, too. I always forget how sinus infections just drag on and on with me; I'd be practically back to normal by now if it were a cold.

I hear you on the home inspection surprises (also watch lots of HGTV, although my jam is Property Virgins and House Hunters).

For me, the big thing is the granite countertops. Honestly, the house is perfectly lovely: you do not need to do a complete demo just because the countertops are not made of stone.

Feel better!

Ahaha, I bought my first place a little over a year ago and the granite countertops / stainless steel appliances thing was hilarious, the way it showed up in almost every listing that wasn't explicitly a fixer-upper. There is nowhere to put an actual table to eat at anywhere in this apartment, but BY GOD THE APPLIANCES ARE STAINLESS. I didn't even want stainless appliances! (And didn't end up with them, WHICH IS FINE.)

HGTV is one of the reasons I don't have cable. I'm utterly incapable of turning it off.

I feel your pain on the sinuses. I have a sinus infection that I'm trying to fight with a neti pot instead of antibiotics, god help me. Feel better!

I thought very firmly about how 90% of sinus infections are viruses and will resolve themselves without antibiotics! - and it seems to have, so, points to my immune system, I guess. Eventually. I have gone through so many tissues in the past two weeks...

I want her to meet Batman. She would be alarmed and then unimpressed by Batman.

Whereas Batman would be impressed and then alarmed.

I feel like if Batman existed in this universe, about two years from now Alfred and Dick would come sit Felicity and Diggle down and say No, seriously, what's your secret, because I saw yours smile TWICE yesterday and we are making no progress with this one.
