Yeah, Premieres is kind of a brutal venue for a vid, honestly. Especially when you're toward the end of the show and working with source that doesn't necessarily have big emotional resonance for most of the room. I definitely enjoyed it a lot more the second time around, when I could access the silly and the sense of fun rather than being stuck on "seriously, who are these people" and "hey, remember the Master vid to this song? I liked that." (Neither of which reactions are within your control, obviously.)

I had trouble with the song choice for Comfortably Numb too, and I really wanted to like this vid! I do like a lot of things about it, but it's going to take me more viewings to get past my instinctive sense of disconnect. I'm weirdly ultra picky about song choice for SCC vids, but I can usually get past my gut reactions in time.

(I love these posts, by the way -- as someone who didn't go to VVC, it makes me feel like I still get to watch along with other people, rather than just on my own, if that makes sense.)

Yeah, I find it difficult to match with music too. I actually don't reject the song for the fandom as such (which I do sometimes), but I couldn't get ahold of it as a Cameron song, you know?

Have you seen "Land" yet?

I saw somebody suggest a reading that the lyrics represent the vestiges of "Allison" in Cameron's consciousness, which intrigued me but didn't quite convince me.

OMG "Land"! So ambitious, so amazing. I'm secretly hoping that she goes for a Patti Smith/SCC trifecta by vidding "Dancing Barefoot."
